Hodgepodge Update

I haven't blogged in awhile it seems. Things have been crazy busy around here with Mark's work schedule, Kai's various activities, Jakob just being a busy 3 year old, and me doing the school thing along with my other various mother and wife duties. But it seems that I have come down with a pretty gnarly kidney infection so it hurts to even walk. So while I park my fat butt on the couch I thought I could write a hodgepodge update for you guys. Two weeks ago was Spring Break down here and my sister and her family came to visit for about half of it. We have lived in Houston for almost two years and she thought it was about time to come and see where I live. Good times were had by all. Since my sister doesn't have any girls (3 boys ages 10, 7, and 2) Kai is the only girl on my side of the family. She takes it like a champ and gets right in there with the rowdy boys. Jakob keeps on asking when his cousins are coming back. I hope soon is what I tell him. Kai has been keeping busy with school, horse back lessons, piano lessons, and slumber parties. She has really come into her own this last year. So happy for that because a year ago I had to push her out of the house to get out and meet people. Jakob is loving preschool and looks forward to Tuesday and Thursdays when he can go. He is still obsessed with all things Star Wars and makes us call him Darth Vader at inopportune times (like when we have company over!) Mark is staying busy with work and is loving working in Houston. He still travels but not as much as last year so that makes it a little easier on us. He has also joined a softball team that plays on Thursday nights. As for me I feel like between school and every other thing that I have to do daily that I barely have time to breathe. Sleep tends to elude me often. I am looking forward to the summer when I can go back home to visit my family and have a little time off from my hectic life!
