A quiet Christmas

This year Mark and I decided to have a nice quiet Christmas at home with just the four of us. Christmas Eve was nice as Mark grilled out some steaks for our dinner so that I didn't have to cook two big meals. What a gentleman! After dinner he read Twas The Night Before Christmas to the kids and then we sent them off to bed. Children at bed by 8pm on Christmas Eve. Miracles do happen!! We then proceeded to set out santa for Jakob and Kai (that only took about 2 hours) and then we were off to bed as well. Jakob woke all of us around 8 on Christmas morning and then the fun began. Kai was so happy to see what santa brought her. She got a babrbie doll house (it is taller than she is), Jonas Brothers poster and cd, and a barbie with her very own jeep. Jakob was less than enthused but that was to be expected. He got stacking rings, a music player, and a shape sorter. Maybe next year he will be more into it. Mark got a PS3 and I got what I wanted which was socks (20 pairs!). Plus Mark got me so beautiful garnet and diamond earrings with a matching necklace. I made my first ham for lunch and it turned out great! After lunch Kai and Mark played with their new toys while Jakob and I took much needed naps. That night I spent packing for our trip to the mountains. I would post about that now however, Jakob just fell asleep and it is really sounding like nap time to me as well!
